Spiritual Meaning:
Sound in the spiritual sense is vibration from which everything is created. In dreams, purity of sound is a prerequisite of awareness.

Psychological / Emotional Perspective:
To the waking mind, sound is necessary – and is sometimes somewhat irritating. Sound can be a marker for the natural changes that occur in focus in the dream state and, therefore, becomes part of the dream scenario. A particularly sharp sound – such as a desk bell pinging – would suggest sudden change, whereas an apparently long, drawn-out sound – such as a foghorn – would signify a slower process.

Everyday Material Aspects:
Literally, if what we do in waking life resonates with us – that is, satisfies our inner and outer being – we may become particularly aware in dreams of sound. A discordant note would signify difficulty, and a purer one success.
